The Coral Reef Senior High School Band program is recognized as one of the top ensembles in Miami-Dade County and across the State of Florida. Over the past four years, the band program has developed a conservatory-style environment. Courses offered consist of performance based ensembles: Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Brass Ensemble, Chamber Winds, Jazz Band and an Honors Music Theory course which is both academically and performance based. The chamber ensembles (Brass Ensemble and Chamber Winds) are designed after Fiorello H. LaGuardia School of the Arts in Manhattan. Students in these classes focus on individual instrumental technique, solo repertoire, and wind chamber music allowing for the individual musician to grow and develop.
Entry into Coral Reef and the band is by application and try-out only. We are striving to be competitive on the local, state, and national level in all phases of instrumental education and performance.
We have created this website to relay ongoing information for our use, communicate our activities, and to share our adventure with the world.
The Coral Reef Wind Ensemble will be performing at a Benefit Concert for Aryana Bell on Tuesday, May 28 at 7PM at Pinecrest Gardens. Make plans to come out and support the family!
